My name is Hollie Malins. I am currently enrolled in my third year at Liverpool Hope University studying Primary Education with Disability Studies.
I have known that I wanted to be a teacher from a very young age and for that I am blessed. I have a passion for the genuine nurturance of children and educational ideals. I want children to engage in an education that is relevant and meaningful to them in their lives and one that gives them ambition and enjoyment.
From the age of eleven I was inspired by an author Torey Hayden, to work with children with various impairments, at-risk children and to truly reach into the hearts of every child. She wrote about her experiences with children in distress, as an elementary school teacher and educational psychologist and I knew instantly that this is where I wanted to focus my teaching profession towards.
In the Spring Semester 2013 I was lucky enough to study abroad ay Hope College in Holland, Michigan and gain an insight into another education system. This experience has taught me a lot about who I am as a teacher and has given me an insight into how I can manage my classroom effectively. In particular, the class Classroom & Behaviour Management: LD/EI - EDUC 356 has helped me to articulate my thoughts and ideas about how I would manage my classroom and I am excited to graduate and put these ideas into action with my first class.
Please read through my website to learn more about the educational experiences i have had so far and how I am growing and developing. If you would like to know more about my teaching journey or have any thoughts on aspects of my site please feel free to fill in the contact form below.
