Rules and Considerations
When I begin setting up my classroom I will ensure to pay specific attention to the rules and procedures about the use of technology in the classroom. In the classroom today, technology is becoming ever increasingly used to enhance learning and so it would be important to set rules that ensures student's take care and use technologies appropriately. Alike my classroom rules, I would want my students to devise the rules so they know what is expected of them, more likely to abide by the rules and more willing to accept the consequences of abusing the privilege of using technology. Below are some rules I that i think are important:
1. To use technology for the educational purposes set by the teacher only.
2. To not abuse the privilege by going onto social media in class.
3. Do not download anything without permission.
4. Never give out any personal information.
5. If you see anything uncomfortable, turn off your monitor and notify a teacher.
6. Hold the iPads with both hands.
7. Be respectful to others when sharing with online with classmates.
No matter the age of the students in my class, I would go through the set procedure to get technology out, how to hold it and how to put it away. If I am to have technology in the classroom it will come at a price and so I would repeat the procedure to getting the technology out several times in the first few weeks so that my students are fully aware of how to look after the technology.
I would also be sure to thoroughly run through how to use different technologies and software because not all students will have had the experience in their homes lives like their peers may have.
